Lithium-ion batteries catch fire at GM Factory ZERO on Detroit’s east side

The incident, which occurred on Tuesday (Dec. 19) in the 2500 block of East Grand Boulevard, caused the cancellation of the second shift. General Motors shut down production after some lithium-ion batteries sparked near the loading dock of the four-point-five million square foot facility.
